How to Cast Movies to Your TV (Chromecast, AirPlay, Miracast)

Casting sends the stream to your TV while your phone stays free — the TV does the decoding, the phone does the remote. Once it works, you never go back.

Chromecast / Google TV

  1. Connect phone and TV to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Open the movie, tap the cast icon (rectangle with waves).
  3. Pick your TV — the screen hands off within seconds.

AirPlay (Apple Devices)

  1. Swipe down for Control Center → Screen Mirroring.
  2. Select the AirPlay-enabled TV.
  3. Open the movie full-screen — audio routes to the TV automatically.

Miracast / Smart View (Android → Most TVs)

Settings → Connections → Screen Cast (name varies by brand). Select the TV, done. Best for TVs without native casting.

Fixing the Three Common Failures

  • Device not listed: both devices must be on the SAME network — guest Wi-Fi breaks casting.
  • Stuttering cast: the phone is doing the work (mirror mode) instead of the TV (cast mode). Use in-player cast where available.
  • No audio: check the TV input's volume and switch audio output in the player menu.

What to Cast First

Open Nexfix on your phone, cast, and pick from the movies catalogue — the first cast takes about twenty seconds; every one after that takes five.
